Sad news for Utah Democrates (and Republicans)

It is said that this move is good for Utah. Gaining us more politician Ump! in the National landscape.  This statement is probably true. And I know that Huntsman is a great fit for the job of US ambassador for China. He knows  Mandarin and has lived in China 3 times.  Great he went on a mission to China. And he is also moderate republican with respect from both sides of the aisle. So Obama will get credit for placing a republican into his cabinet. Its a "win win" situation, right?

But Governor, Huntsman has done a lot for Utah too. He pushed for an overhaul of Utah's health-care system, he lobbied for his party to do more on the environment (yes!), he changed the liquor laws to help draw new businesses in Utah, and he supports civil unions for same sex couples a big ""no, no" for Republican leaders. Most importantly, though,  he promoted the power of bipartisanship in Utah, a state where Republicans dominate. "Most Americans are fed up with the idea that partisanship has stood in the way of progress," Huntsman said in an interview late last year. A view I think most agree with.  I love what he has done for Utah and I look forward to the what he will do for America's relationship with China. But, I am also sad, to loose what he would have done for Utah if he was to stay here. Its not often I like a Utah Republican and I miss that already...

  3. In the immortal words of Travis Pastrana...Utah's governor "kicks ass", we will probably slide back into the dark ages again without him.
