Yes, another post on GNP! (I think there is only one more left) I will keep it short on words and long on images....
Nate and Tanner: heading to the trail
The Trail of the Ceders looks like this. Cool, green, and shady. Big trees hug every turn of a boardwalk path. Delicate fern leaves silently below. While the mysterious and ethereal call of the Hermit Thrush rings out from all directions. Never to be seen but always heard.
Trees so big you could climb right into them. This tree was alive, huge, and beautiful.
This great section of river and rock made for dramatic change; as we left the Trail of Ceders and started the Avalanche lake trail.
The Avalanche Lake trail follows a river of blue water and red rock.
The filtered light and green, green, green leaves along the trail.
The mouth of the river.
Avalanche Lake
Tanner spoke of the logs, left from an avalanche, as being the keystone to the lake. Without the logs, the water in the Lake would run out. And, of course, as his parents, we think he is brilliant.
The kids played on Avalanche Lake's Keystones.
The squirrels were too friendly. They obviously have been feed by previous human visitors.
Tanner documenting the rocks, he found, loved, and left in the National Park.
Wow GREAT pictures Ang!! Looks like you had a great time!
ReplyDeleteLove the shot of the kids in the tree! I really want to go back to Glacier, it is just so amazing.
