I found this in my drafts. Did I forgot to post it? or rather did I not post it on purpose? Hmmm, it is a rather revealing photo.

Traditionally, Nate and I trade years planning our anniversary. We don't give gifts we take trips; celebrating each other and our life together... without the kids.
This year, was my year, I dropped the ball (or rather the elephant). I haven't planned anything. Between moving, getting the kids set up into school, and work pressures I never got around to it.
I started looking at gifts and the traditional gift of 14 years is ivory. Hmmm, seems like a bad idea for those elephants.
Since Ivory is not a great gift nowadays (was it ever?) I guess I could go with fake ivory or rather "Elephant Friendly Ivory" which is just a politically correct way of saying fake ivory.
Well ivory is not my thing (or Nate's). Although, an Ivory bolo tie would be a great gag gift. So I started searching for other white things. I thought a white wine tasting package would be fun!
"Crap!" We live in Utah (damn liquor laws). They wont ship it to us. Why do I keep reliving this issue. I want wine shipped to me. Why Utah? Why?

Then yesterday, Nate called me with a suggestion (that he didn't know he was suggesting). We both need new phones. So here I am on the day of our 14 wedding anniversary and I know what we are doing. We are getting ivory.
What a great idea to trade years and go on a trip together. Our anniversary is this weekend and I'm at a loss myself, maybe we should take a trip. "crap!" we live in California (what do we do with our kids with no relatives around to help watch them?) I have an idea, you come here and watch our kids so we can go on a trip and then you can get your wine package or even better go to Napa and go on a little wine tasting trip! Sounds pretty good to me!=)

Matching iPhones are ALMOST as good as a trip. :) Happy belated anniversary!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your sweet photo! In mine we both look 14...I didn't see it then, but I sure do now. And what a wonderful tradition to celebrate each other! I've got to go now and give Paul some suggestions for our upcoming anniversary. ;-)
