Our cute little canyon has became quite dangerous.

Ah, I think the "opposition in all things" principle applies here: If there's great ugliness, there's got to be great beauty...and your photos prove it. And the family shot is definitely a keeper - large print, stunning frame.

What a gorgeous place! I guess there's always a bit of danger/dirt involved with romantic-looking places like that. You're lucky to have a waterfall close to home; I'm jealous!
